1/4' Jack Tip Lodged in My Guitar
By Brent E. Green
The 1/4 jack basically fell apart the first time I plugged this into my Martin guitar. Now, it wouldn't have been so bad that I had to return this product, but to make matters worse I now had the tip of the 1/4' jack lodged inside my guitar and couldn't perform with it until having a repair made.

Despite the negative reviews, I assure you this is one of the BEST purchases I've made for the studio!!!
By Anthony
I had been looking for a reasonably priced USB instrument cable to use with my recording software and had (thanks to the lovely folks at a local Guitar Center) almost given up hope of being able to do what it was that I wanted to do. Then, I ran across this little guy! I was told by a Guitar Center associate that a USB cable was unable to give the sound that I was looking for and that I should purchase an interface (which they conveniently had in the store) to use in conjunction with my software. Funny thing is, my software had 10 times the features that their interface had..but that's all on a different topic. Now to this cable..
I read all the reviews left on this cable, and it was at the time about a fifty-fifty between positive and negative; nevertheless, I decided to give it a shot. It arrived well ahead of the estimated date of delivery. When I plugged it in, the red light on the USB plug came right on, and after tweaking my studio settings a bit, I was playing and recording with this cable. Contrary to what some have said, I had no feedback or static from this cable whatsoever, and the sound was incredible. I was able to reproduce, with this cable, a $150 Les Paul knock-off, and Samplitude Producer (also available on Amazon), sounds very similar..almost identical..to those that I can get from the 1950's era Strat (not an easy feat). This cable is very well built, easy to use in recording (much easier than amps, pedal boards, and interfaces), and was a GREAT investment and addition to my studio collection. If you are debating purchasing this cable, I would highly recommend it. I am not calling anyone a liar who has had negative feedback as I do not know their circumstances; however, for me, this was a great purchase..no negativity, hands-down!

Worked fine with little noise for a couple of hours
By Rex Mcnish
Worked fine with little noise for a couple of hours, jamming with some VST plugins on a guitar amp simulator on the computer, then it just started crapping out, with tons of static, popping, just terrible noise. Tried moving the USB portion away from the computer, thinking that it might had been picking up interference from that, but it still was super noisy.
Really disappointed as it worked great.. for a couple of hours.
Techtool pro 9.5.3 with crack for mac. UPDATE 9/27/2015: The Rocksmith cable is so much more reliable and best of all, noise free. Get that.
